Police today arrested a person allegedly involved in the shooting incident that killed advocate Bhuban Chandra Shil a week ago.
Masum Billah alias Himel, 36, of Chuadanga's Sadar upazila, was held from Old Dhaka today, said Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station.
Masum lives in the capital's Gendaria.
Police will produce him before a magistrate tomorrow with a 10-day remand petition.
Bhuban, who was hit by a stray bullet, died at a city hospital this afternoon.
Shil, a 55-year-old lawyer, was passing through the Tejgaon Industrial area on a motorcycle on Monday night when criminals ambushed a suspect in the film actor Sohel Chowdhury murder case.
While the suspect survived, Shil, with a bullet in his head, had to fight for his life at the intensive care unit of Popular Medical College Hospital for a week.
